Handpainted Paper Sunday Freebie 2

Here is some more of my Handpainted Paper....or as many call it,,,Paste Paper.
This piece is a watercolor abstract with some metallic gold and a tiny bit of cheesecloth printing.
Feel free to use this in your creations if you so desire. Again, there is plenty of "white space" for your stamping or mark making. It would be fun to see what and how you use this. Please link to this post and show us your "before and after"......
I plan on stamping a few images and then using it to cover my latest book project.
Make it a creative week!

Oh the Wild Joys of Living

Red, Orange and Yellow....perfect colors for summer.
Nature is blessing us with a bit of a reprieve.........my curtains are dancing
as the cool breezes send them soaring skyward and flowing gently back to earth .....on this perfect summer day.

Wildflower

One of my many small watercolors.
There are so many white flowers out in the fields right now.

A typical flower at this time of year.

Handpainted Paper Sunday Freebie

I have been painting papers this week.

Here is an example of just one of many.
This is left fairly open so that if you print it out you can then add your own mark making, stamping to match the theme of your project you are working on..... or use just as is.

Feel free to use this in your creations if you so desire. If you use this for any of your projects, please link back to my blog. I´d really appreciate it :)

Tulip Cards

The card was stamped with various graphic elements and then gesso and jaune gouache were randomly dabbed on in order to produce a recessed effect.

I painted some watercolor paper with random reds and yellows and a little gesso. I stamped the quote with shadow ink so it would blend into the background.

I then stamped the tulip from Penny Black and added gold spritz.....distressed the edges and added a gold heart brad.

A few other examples using more of the same paint and paper.

July

One of the watercolors I painted this past weekend....yes, I was out in the heat,,,almost all day.

I sat here in the shade and tried to keep as cool as possible. I quickly got the paint on my paper as the sun was moving through the tall grass.

Within about five minutes it was just a memory.....one hot day in July.

Handbound Book

A friend of mine loves the color pink,,,so of course, I made her a pink book.

I made the paste paper with a metallic acrylic paint and stamped a big swirl stamp into the wet paint which created a negative impression. I did a little mark making and spritzing on the front.
The quote is from Quietfire Design.

The edges of the book block have been speckled with black ink and two black satin ribbons were attached at the spine which she can use to mark her page.

What a Day

My day started out like this....another beautiful sunrise as seen from my patio.

As the morning progressed...... I could only think of going here!!!

Everyone was enjoying the sunshine.

Even Benny.

Soaking up the rays................

The heat eventually got the better of me and I had to retreat to cooler territory.
I started painting some watercolor paper adding a touch of metallics. I stamped it with a frame from Stampers Anonymous and a quote from Catslife Press.
The center is sliced open and peeled back to reveal Mr. Extraordinary,,,,,,
"el gato gordo",,,,Benny.
The card itself is stamped with a definition from Catslife Press which defines the meaning of cats life. It reads as follows,,,,,
catslife (kats´lif) n. 1.the opposite of dog´s life and rat race. 2.an independent lifestyle, with plenty of naps, snacks, toys, afternoons of sunshine and back-scratches.

What a lifestyle,,,,,sounds good to me.

Just how hot was it anyway?

Well, it was,,,,and still is for that matter,,,, sooooo hot that these guys are feeling right at home.

The weekend forecast is making them very happy!

Yup, you guessed it,,,,it is supposed to get even HOTTER!!

But have no fear,,,

because before you know it, we´ll be having to dig our way out again.
This is one of my watercolors from the winter of 2010 in the "Siebentischwald" forest.

I feel cooooooooler already,,,,don´t you?

The Heat Is On

This heat we are having reminds me of this hallway in Greece which I painted in Pastel last summer.
