The Line Up

The Line Up
A colorful array of longstitch books.
All the covers are painted with watercolors and ink.
The spines are sewn onto leather for added stability.

The Red one with a black leather spine.

The Blue one with a brown leather spine.

Bookbinding is always a fun summertime project.
I have many more waiting in the wings.
What have you been working on this summer?

The Summer of Color is ending this week so I have
added my colorful books to their list.
Have a great week!

Loving your books, the binding is amazing and fab patterns on them all. My summer is spent mainly with the 10 grandchildren, although not all at once, thank heavens......lol So crafting and art are on the back burner for the moment. Annette x

The combination of our strengths, painting and bookbinding, make your work incedible. I love the books.

These are awesome! I love book binding. I always find I take so long to do it and make such a huge mess...and when you're doing all that in your bedroom, it becomes kind of inconvenient haha. Your books look beautiful.

Wow, Cynnie, these are beautiful books - I like all those bright colors. So what are you going to do with them - sell them? Blank paper inside? That would make great sketchbooks.

Cynnie, these are fabulous! I've always liked book-binding, but I always seem to have more books than I have artwork for. Plus I'd hate to "mess up" a pretty book I spent time making. ;-)

Thanks for stopping by and commenting on my latest photos. It's funny that you liked the brick wall. That one was my least favorite because the flash went off and overexposed. I was going to do it over, but decided to just go with it and chock it up to one to learn from.

Hope you're having a great week!
Christine

Your books are WONDERFUL, Cynnie!! I can't think of more fun than making handmade books - I like constructing them much more than decorating them. I especially like when you can see the stitching on the spine - truly beautiful books!!
