Vamos a la Playa

Vamos a la Playa

I find it hard to belive that summer is almost here.
Whenever I think of summer I think of the beach.
I don´t live anywhere near the ocean. I have in the
past and I miss the sea air, the carefree atmosphere
that seems to abound near the water and all that
bright sunshine.

Today I painted a miniature watercolor of my
favorite beach.

What are your memories of summers gone by?

This is my entry for Crazy Amigos, One Layer Wednesday,

Such a pretty watercolor! I can almost hear the swish of the waves and feel a cool breeze. It's been beastly hot here, so I've really enjoyed my virtual trip to the sea!!! Hope you have a happy weekend! Hugs, TErri xoxo

Beautiful colors and movement of the sea.
My summers are spent mostly in my summerhouse by the sea in Denmark, and it is all about relax , gardening and sunbathing . My memories from these summers are many and all very pleasant.

Beautiful painting. I sit on our beach and look out and the sky and water are the same color especially on an overcast day and the water then blends in with the sand and I wonder how you would paint a scene like that. Now I know, thank you.

Such pretty colors here...reminds me of the days in my childhood spent at the beach :)

My dad loved to bodysurf...I remember building sandcastles and digging for crabs waiting for him to come in from his time surfing to take me out into the waves. I've never been a huge fan of ocean swimming...but with him...it was fun :)

Hi Cynnie
As you say, imagine both of us posting beach artwork at the same time.
Here it is cold and very, wet, not quite Bathing Belle weather LOL.
Like you I detest sand and what is worse, wet feet making contact with sand, I am shuddering at the thougt. No, I will never be a Siren of the Sea LOL.
A tranquil, soothing watercolour - always in awe of your talent, am I boring you with the amount of times I tell you that ?!!!
Wishes
Lynne

So beautiful and inviting Cynnie!
Gorgeous painting as always!
I am enjoying being barefoot...but would be really happy if I could twinkle my toes in the sand...the Outer Banks of North Carolina hold lots of special memories...as do trips to different Florida beaches...oh now I have wanderlust for the beach...
thank you very much ;)

I am taking a break from hot gardening at the moment and your beautiful painting has me thinking that I should go swimming to cool off (but the lake is still too cold sniff sniff)! This project fits perfectly with the Stampotique CAS challenge this week! Thank you for sharing it with us!

Your painting of the beach is lovely. Yes I grew up by the beach in Scotland. Now live in the mountains of Colorado and miss the sea breezes. So your card was a pleasant reminder.
Thanks

You have a favorite beach? I want one with white sand, turquoise water, and lots of warm sun. It's in my mind, of course. I haven't been on a warm beach for about 40 years. ;-)

this is gorgeous! just a tiny snippet of the ocean lapping the shore and yet it manages to evoke such wonderful memories of warm sunny places and beautiful beaches! i live near the sea but in northern ireland so although we have great beaches we have rubbish weather! my favourite beaches would be in Portugal-they're amazing.

Your painting breaths sea, sand, beach, ocean everywhere! Wonderful colours, beautiful text, just in the right place!
