John, Paul, George or Ringo

I named him Ringo.  He can´t sing but he more than makes up for it with his looks.
What a beauty. This proves once and for all....don´t leave home without your camera.
Be it going  for a jog in the forest or even up the block to the market.  What a lucky shot.

This is a gold-green Ground Beetle, Carabus auratus and a member of the Carabidae family
which is a native to central and western Europe.  Thank you Dr. Africa Gómez, Biologist at the
Universtiy of Hull in England and her Bug Blog for filling me in on this information.

I am sharing this shot with I Heart Macro, Sunday Best and Macro Monday.

Oh, I am laughing at this. My daughter (who studied insects in college) had a t-shirt with photos of 4 beetles on it. Each had a name underneath, John, Paul, George and Ringo. He's a beauty!

Awesome shot. I had to smile when I began to read as I had decided he definitely looked like a Ringo. Have a wonderful week.

Ah! I saw one of these things on my nature walk last Saturday. The sun was too bright, so I couldn't get a good shot. You did, though! Thanks for sharing! Such an interesting creature.

What a fabulous color! I had hoped it might be a cricket, but when I read "beetle," I cringed a little. I wonder if it eats roses??

Ah ha- you remembered your camera! Good for you. Great shot, and you could use it to whack any "ne'er do well" types out there in the woods. xo

Images of all kinds are being captured today. We are obviously better for it. We have access to so much more.

You image achieves this and more. Macro shots pose more of a challenge; however, skilled individuals know how to clue in to what makes an image pop. Congratulations!!!

That beautiful green is stunning isn't it? No wonder you were captivated by it and how lucky you had your camera with you! I tend to see the best things when I haven't got mine with me, maybe I should learn from this? ;)

What a great shot!
I ran into the home without the camera (except my IPhone) last night, and saw a rainbow and a hawk... I had the camera, but the battery was dead :(

Thanks for stopping by!

Cynthia, yes thanks for calling my attention to this creature.
Nature is amazing isn't it?
Somewhere on my blog is also a
Golden Ladybug. I saw it in my garden a few months ago eating on my plants. It is exactly like a ladybug but really gold.
