Red and Green Grapes

My third piece with the grapes on my kitchen counter.
I put the red and green on the same plate this time.

Here all three......but you can scroll down a bit to see the original posts
on the first two pieces.

How is your summer going so far?
Fun in the sun I hope!

On My Kitchen Counter 4

Cold and snowy winter days are hopefully over.
They kept me indoors setting up
fruit and veg still life possibilities for future paintings.

Long winter days can drive one
bonkers and I sometimes resorted to playing with my food before preparing it.

With such colors,,, who could resist painting such beauties.
Too pretty to eat you say.
That is the best part,,,eating the props.

I hope all of you are having a wonderful start to springtime.

Back to the drawing board.....

Watercolor Fun

Long time no see.
I have been having lots of fun painting lots of watercolors since last checking in here.
I thought it about time I do a post considering I forgot my password and had to
look it up.

This piece was inspired by a foto from a very talented watercolorist, Anita Ulrich.
Considering the fact that a Eucalyptus tree has hundreds of leaves... I used that
foto as my inspiration to paint random negative leaves a layer at a time...

All I need to do is take the tape off, sign it and get it in a frame.

What have you been up to lately?  Hope all is well.

Calla Lilies

 I love Calla Lilies.
They are one of my favorite flowers.

 A quick gift.
I printed out copies of one of my watercolors that I did sometime ago.
I mounted them on cardstock and added assorted lace, ribbons and paper.  Presto, a little gift.

My Peony Garden

June was a month full of Peonies along my fence.
A glimpse of one out of my sketchbook.

This year they lasted well into July.
They started out as a vibrant pink.

Everyday was a party of pinkness.

As the weeks went on the color started to mellow out.

Then we had a terrible storm and over half of them landed on the ground.

They were all hit hard and drooping.

A lot that were still on the stalk looked like this.

The few with petals began to take on an abstract form.

By the beginning of July,,,the last petals.

 As of yesterday......

Reminds me of a jester´s hat.....

 Looks like a moose head....

The new and the old.
What a difference a month and a half makes.

Roses

I had some time to make some bookmarks.

Roses are one of my favorite flowers.

A Pink, Green and Gray color combination.

I used Art Journey stamps with watercolor and finished them off with pen and ink.

A few more detail shots.

If you would like one of these rose bookmarks,,,,leave me a comment
and  my assistant will pick a name next week and send one to you.

Pantone Color of the Year for 2013

Emeral Green is Pantone´s Color of the Year for 2013.

Every year Pantone announces the trend color.
Emerald Green is Lively. Radiant. Lush...a color of
elegance and beauty that enhances our sense of
well-being, balance and harmony.

What do you think of Pantone´s choice this year?  I like this color
so much that I am considering using it as my blog color...how about you?

Above pictured artwork can be purchased as prints from art.com.

Last year´s color was Tangerine Tango.

You know this is going to make all the inhabitants of the Emerald Isle very
happy don´t you.

Pear Tree

I spied the bah humbug kitty kat hanging out in the pear tree today.

He is not fooling me though.  He is sitting in a bed of partridge feathers
and even has the evidence hanging out of his mouth!

Sure,,,,,what partridge?

This is an ATC size ornament for my tree this year.
Is your tree decorated yet?
